Formal matters:
Please refer to the description in SIS for the official content of this course. This page mostly mirrors the content available on the Absalon web page (restricted access). The course combines material from Nakhle Asmar, Partial Differential Equations with Fourier Series and Boundary Value Problems, 2nd edition, Pearson Prentice Hall, 2004, with Gerd Grubb's supplementing notes from 2006. The home page from 2008 can be found here.
Three obligatory assignments will be posted in weeks 2, 4 and 6 of the course and have to be handed in by Friday (at noon) of the following week, i.e. week 3, 5 resp. 7. You are welcome to collaborate with others in solving the homework problems, but you must write your own formulation of the answer. Otherwise it will be considered plagiarizing. Please write clearly and in English.
The final in-class exam will be given on Wednesday, November 3, 10-12 am in A110.
There is going to be the opportunity of a re-exam later in the academic year.
