The school aims to expose postgraduate students and interested faculty to some of the recent developments at the interface between applied and numerical analysis with math biology and prepare them for research in these fields. Jean-Frederic Gerbeau is going to discuss the numerical analysis of fluid-structure interaction, inverse problems and data assimilation for the cardiovascular system. Hans Othmer's course is on modeling, shape analysis and the boundary integral method in the context of cell movement.
We expect to have some funding for postgraduate students, in particular from Scottish universities.
Information about travel to Edinburgh and local accomodation can be found here.

organized by Gissell Estrada-Rodriguez, Heiko Gimperlein, Kevin Painter and Jakub Stocek

We are grateful for the financial support from the Glasgow Mathematical Journal Learning and Research Support Fund.
