WA2.08 Time domain boundary elements for wave propagation
Motivated by the sound emission of tires or railways, we consider numerical methods for transient wave propagation. Time domain boundary element methods provide an efficient tool for accurate long-time simulations. We review recent work on enriched methods for high frequencies, adaptive mesh refinement procedures and dynamic contact problems. In particular, we apply them to modelling the noise radiated by car tires.
